About us
International House Bratislava is a language school with more than 25 years of history in Bratislava. We are part of the International House World Organisation network, which has been operating in more than 50 countries since 1953. We offer English courses for adults, children and companies, preparation for Cambridge exams FCE, CAE, as well as CELTA teacher training courses.
There is a lot we could say about our school. The most important thing, however, is that we enjoy teaching you.
Our most important selected milestones:
- 2026 – we obtained the AIVD EDUQUA Quality Management Certificate
- 2026 – cooperation with the State Institute of Vocational Education (ŠIOV) on the project of professional Slovak for the labour market
- 2025 – we are a coordinator of the DigitaLang project, which promotes innovative language learning for migrant students through digital tools, microlearning, and gamification
- 2025 – with the support of a grant from MŠVVaŠ SR, we were able to provide free Slovak language training to 400 foreigners and significantly support their integration into social and professional life in Slovakia
- 2025 – we also offer Digital Cambridge English Exams
- 2025 – we offer a Slovak language exam at A2 level for the purposes of obtaining temporary or permanent residence in Slovakia
- 2024 – we teach more than 3,000 students, 2,000 children, 120,000 lessons each year and provide comprehensive language services
- 2023 – we expanded and moved to new premises at Moskovská Street 13
- 2021 – together with our partner schools, we founded a consortium and were granted Accreditation for Erasmus+ in the school education sector (KA121-SCH) for the period 2021–2027
- 2020 – we also teach Live Online in virtual classrooms – public and company courses
- 2019 – became a Cambridge CELTA teacher training centre – the first and only one in Slovakia
- 2018 – joined Erasmus+
- 2016 – we teach more than 3,000 students, 700 children, 50,000 lessons each year and provide comprehensive language services
- 2014 – launched a new product – day summer camp
- 2013 – joined the Ministry of Education network of schools employing the Start Right product for children under 15
- 2009 – became an examination centre for Cambridge English Exams: YLE and for Adults
- 2005 – 1st year of the IH Bratislava Conference for English Teachers
- 2005 – launched a new product for teaching children at primary schools – Start Right
- 2004 – new premises at Nám. SNP 14, where you can still find us today
- 2004 – joined the international network of language schools IHWO and changed our name to IH Bratislava
- 1999 – founded as "The Caledonian School" on Obchodná Street
More than 100 teachers from 12 different countries teach at our school. Thanks to this, there is a strong multicultural atmosphere.
