Slovak Language Exam at A2 Level: An Important Step Toward Living and Working in Slovakia

Do you need an official proof of Slovak language proficiency for the Foreign Police or your employer? The Slovak language exam at A2 level is designed for foreigners who want to verify their communicative competence and obtain a certificate recognized within the Slovak immigration system.

Exam dates

The exam is organized by International House Bratislava, a private language school included in the network of schools of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Since 1999, the school has specialized in teaching Slovak as a foreign language and in organizing language exams in accordance with the CEFR.

By successfully passing the exam, you will receive a Certificate of Slovak Language Proficiency at A2 level, valid from 15 July 2025 in accordance with Act No. 404/2011 Coll. on the Residence of Foreigners. The certificate also includes a percentage evaluation of individual language skills and is accepted by the Foreign Police and other authorities.

The exam consists of a written part (reading, writing, listening) and an oral part focused on speaking. Candidates should reserve a full day for the exam. Exam dates are added gradually and the number of participants is limited.

Registration is simple and completed online. After your application is processed, you will receive an invitation with detailed information. Successful candidates will receive their certificate within three working days after the exam.
