IH Bratislava cooperates with the State Institute of Vocational Education

Štátny inštitút odborného vzdelávania (The State Institute of Vocational Education) has launched a pilot phase of specialized Slovak language courses for foreign employees in industry. The aim of the project is to help foreign nationals overcome language barriers, increase workplace safety, and support their successful integration into both professional and everyday life.

Our language school, International House Bratislava, is also collaborating on the project, contributing to the implementation and evaluation of this innovative educational model directly in practice. We are proud to be part of a project that provides a systemic solution to language training tailored to the needs of Slovak industry and promotes a safe and inclusive working environment.

The A2-level courses focus on practical, job-specific Slovak for the automotive and related industries. Participants learn production terminology, workplace communication, occupational health and safety (OHS), as well as language needed for everyday situations. The training is delivered in a modern, interactive format and is adapted to shift operations. The pilot phase began on 21 February at Forvia (in Stupava and Košice). Major automotive companies Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen Slovakia, and Stellantis are also involved in the project.
