History of International House Bratislava

There is a lot we could say about our school. The most important thing however, is that we enjoy teaching you.

Our most important selected milestones

1999 - founding of the school, originally named „The Caledonian School“ in Obchodná street
2004 - joined the international network of language schools – IHWO and changing the name to IH Bratislava
2004 - new premises at Nám SNP 14, where you can find us today
2004 - opening examination centre for TOEIC exams
2005 - launch of the new product for teaching children courses at elementary schools – Start Right
2005 - 1. year of the IH Conference for English Teachers
2009 - become an examination centre Cambridge English Language Assessment for Cambridge Exams: YLE, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, ILEC a BEC.
2013 – joining the Ministry of Education network of schools employing the Start Right product for children under 15
2013 – new premises in CBC I. at Karadžičova street No. 8 (9^th floor)
2014 - launching new product – day summer camp
2016 – we teach more than 3000 students, 700 children, 50 000 lessons each year and we provide comprehensive language services
2018 - joining Erasmus+
2019 - launch of the new product - English summer school (UK, Malta)
2019 - become a Cambridge CELTA teacher training centre – the first and only one in Slovakia
2020 - we teach also Live Online in virtual classes - public courses and company courses

More than 90 teachers from 12 different countries teach at our language school. Thanks to this, there is a strong multicultural atmosphere. We are a member of International House World Organisation, an international network of language schools.

The international organisation International House World Organisation, founded in 1953, affiliates 160 schools all over the world. It is dedicated to improving the quality of teaching languages and teacher development. Other members of the network include important schools in cities all over the world.
