Start Right

Learning a foreign language is not an easy task, and it is therefore important to start this process at the right time and in the right way.

We believe The 'Start Right Programme' does exactly that. This programme is for 1st and 2nd graders and takes place within their school day, with a native speaker of English, using play, fun and the necessity of communication to learn the language.

By starting them young, they get a head start, they will have a far wider vocabulary and general ability to understand by the time they reach the age when tests, rules and grammar are the focus.

Because the children have the lessons during their school day they are more open and ready to learn. After a full day of school and often with a change of location to attend afternoon classes, they are more likely to be tired and easily distracted.

International House Bratislava believes young children need to learn through play, they need to enjoy the language and feel motivated to communicate in it. The teaching methods and materials our teachers use reflect this belief.
